Denver Metro South Rotary was proud to participate in this year’s EPIC Day of Service through Operation Pollination — a hands-on environmental project focused on restoring native habitat for Colorado pollinators.
Operation Pollination Creates Lasting Impact
Together with our incredible partners at Denver Audubon, volunteers spent the morning planting native seeds that will help support bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other essential pollinators across our community.
Because our volunteers gave their morning in service, restored habitat is now beginning to take root. In time, that care will help welcome back the pollinators Colorado depends on while creating healthier ecosystems for future generations.
The impact was truly inspiring:
- 48 volunteers registered
- 160 volunteer service hours contributed
We were also grateful to collaborate with organizations including Backpack Society and Colorado Native Plant Society, whose shared commitment to environmental stewardship helped make the day a success.
As part of this initiative, Denver Metro South Rotary also made a $2,000 donation to Denver Audubon, which in part was used to purchase additional native plants that will continue supporting habitat restoration and pollinator health.
This project was especially meaningful as it supported the vision and passion of Denver Metro South Rotary member Tim, while also advancing one of Rotary International’s Seven Areas of Focus: Supporting the Environment.
We’re grateful for the hands, hearts, and hope of everyone who participated. Operation Pollination was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people come together in service and community partnership.
We hope to see even more community members join us at future activities and service projects as we continue creating impact locally and internationally.
Please consider supporting the Denver Metro South Rotary Foundation so we can continue funding meaningful service projects, environmental initiatives, scholarships, and humanitarian efforts both here in our community and around the world.
