Hello DMS Club Members:
October was a very busy month for our club: our District Governor visited our happy hour, we had our Charter Night Dinner, and we had a very successful food & hygiene drive once again. Your club is known as one of the most active community service clubs in the region. We are proud to say that although our club is a newer club (and younger) we are making ourselves known as the club that gets things done. I hope all of you can join in some of the activities shown in the upcoming calendar events.
As we come into the holiday season, let's cherish our families and Rotary friends as we deal with stress in our world. Rotary International is recognized as a reliable source of support for polio eradication, clean water, and other envirnomental issues. We can support these projects through EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year) with our direct donations to these projects. The eradication of polio is important to our club and I ask you to make a donation to the polio fund at the My Rotary website. Small donations are fine and appreciated and also helps the EREY program as well. Let's have 100% particpation for our club and now is a great time to do it before we get consummed with holiday activities.
For those of you that could not make our November happy hour, there were two announcements to note: Cannon Shippy has joined the DMS Foundation Board and Rich Sattizahn has accepted the Treasurer position to replace Judy Carlson. Please congratulate them for taking on these responsibilities. Additionally, we are looking for community minded people to join our club. Nicole is leading the process and is actively talking with candidates.
I would also like to make you aware of the Rotary International Youth Protection Guide that is being supported by our district. https://www.rotary5450.org/sitepage/youth-at-risk-protection It is important that we adhere to these guidelines when we are working with younger volunteers at our events and is supporting our affiliated Rotoract Club.
WE ARE STILL IN NEED OF MORE VOLUNTEERS FOR THE TWO SECOR CARES COMMUNITY PROJECTS-PLEASE HELP.
Thank you for your club support and I hope to see you soon,
Dave
