Drawing from his career in federal law enforcement, Special Agent Grusing will share the investigative journey behind solving a high-profile murder case, offering unique insights into teamwork, persistence, and the pursuit of justice.

September Service Project

Serving Locally. Empowering Globally.

For the fourth consecutive year, Denver Metro South Rotary is stepping behind the scenes to help make an incredible community event possible.

This September, we will be volunteering at the Girls With Books Annual Gala; an evening that does far more than raise funds. It creates opportunity, hope, and a future for hundreds of young women in South Sudan and Uganda through the power of education.

Education changes lives. It creates leaders. It builds stronger families. It opens doors to careers, independence, and opportunity. Most importantly, it fosters understanding and peace by empowering young women to become educated leaders, role models, and agents of change within their communities. Through tuition assistance, school supplies, mentoring, and leadership development, Girls With Books is helping young women not only attend school but graduate prepared to transform generations to come.

While our service will take place here in Colorado, the impact reaches across the globe.

This is a unique opportunity to serve alongside fellow Rotarians while supporting an organization that is changing lives through education and creating brighter futures for young women and their communities.

Volunteer Opportunities

Registration Team (3-4 Volunteers)

Welcome guests, assist with check-in and check-out, and help create a warm first impression.
Please bring your laptop.

Set-Up & Clean-Up Team

Help prepare the venue before guests arrive and restore it after the event so everything runs seamlessly.

Food & Beverage Support

Assist with food and water service, plate collection, and ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience throughout the evening.

Game Ticket Sales

Sell game tickets using provided iPads while interacting with guests and helping support the evening's fundraising activities.

General Event Support

Be ready to jump in wherever needed to keep the event running smoothly and ensure every guest feels welcomed and cared for.

Whether you're greeting guests at the door, helping someone purchase a game ticket, serving a meal, or lending a hand behind the scenes, your service helps create an unforgettable evening that ultimately provides educational opportunities for girls who may otherwise never have the chance to attend school.

Together, we'll demonstrate one of Rotary's greatest strengths: serving our local community while creating lasting impact around the world.

Denver Metro South Rotary will participate in the 2026 Nonprofit Expo & Business After Hours—and we’ll have our own exhibitor table!

Hosted by the South Metro Denver Chamber’s Partners in Philanthropy Group, this annual event brings together nonprofit organizations, business leaders, public officials, and community members. It is a wonderful opportunity to introduce more people to DMS, share the impact of our service projects, build new relationships, and explore potential community partnerships.

The event is expected to attract up to 150 attendees and is free and open to the public. Come help us represent Denver Metro South Rotary and show our community what Rotary Reimagined looks like!

Join the Rotary Club of Denver Metro South for a unique evening of fellowship and an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of 9NEWS, organized by our very own Deborah Sherman.

This special experience will give members an inside look at the inner workings of a live news station, followed by a social gathering at a nearby location where we'll have the opportunity to connect, unwind, and enjoy one another's company.

Whether you're interested in journalism, curious about what happens behind the camera, or simply looking for a fun evening with fellow Rotarians, this promises to be a memorable event.

A Celebration of Traditions, Friendship & Community

Some of life's best conversations happen around a dinner table.

Join the Rotary Club of Denver Metro South for one of our most cherished traditions of the year—our Annual Holiday Heritage Potluck, an evening dedicated to celebrating the cultures, traditions, memories, and friendships that make our club such a special place to belong.

This year's gathering will be even more meaningful as we welcome District Governor Cindy Chase for her official visit to Denver Metro South. Cindy will join us for the evening and share a special presentation, making this not only a celebration of our club family, but also an opportunity to connect with the leadership and vision of Rotary District 5450.

We invite each member to bring a favorite family recipe or a dish that represents their heritage, culture, or a tradition close to their heart. Whether it's a treasured recipe passed down through generations or simply the meal that always brings your loved ones together, every dish has a story—and we'd love to hear yours.

This evening isn't centered around any one holiday. Instead, it's a celebration of the many traditions that make each of us unique while reminding us how much we all have in common. Whatever this season means to you, you are warmly welcomed at our table.

Hosted by Brianna Sherman, this relaxed evening is an opportunity to slow down, enjoy incredible food from around the world, learn about one another's backgrounds, deepen friendships, and spend time with fellow Rotarians—including District Governor Cindy Chase—as we celebrate everything that makes Denver Metro South more than just a Rotary club... it makes us a family.

Along with your favorite dish, we invite you to bring a recipe card and, if you'd like, include a few sentences about the story behind it.

Every recipe tells a story, and every story helps us know one another a little better.

A Collection of Recipes, Traditions & Stories from the Rotary Club of Denver Metro South.

Our hope is that this becomes much more than a cookbook. We hope it becomes a living collection of our club's history—a keepsake that grows each year as new members add their traditions, friendships deepen, and our Rotary family continues to expand.

Years from now, we hope members will flip through its pages and remember not only the wonderful meals we shared, but the people, laughter, and stories that brought us together.
