Denver Metro South Rotary came together for its Annual Food & Hygiene Drive, a community-centered service project focused on supporting local families experiencing food insecurity and hardship.
Denver Metro South Rotary was proud to participate in this year’s EPIC Day of Service through Operation Pollination — a hands-on environmental project focused on restoring native habitat for Colorado pollinators.
March is here and spring is nearly here. Many of our club members are focused on improving our Colorado environment. Stay tuned for outdoor community service projects coming up soon. The Epic Day of Service is just around the corner and please mark your calendar to keep May 17th open to particpate. Let's be the club with the highest percentage of members particpating in District 5450.
Our membership has declined this year which is a problem only we can fix. If you know of someone that would make a great Rotarian, please talk to them about why you serve. Let's find like minded people who would add energy to our club. Should you know of someone you wish to recruit, please let Nicole or me know so we may reach out to them.
We are now in the back half of the Rotary year and we are doing well with our club goals except for membership. We have another important goal in individual member donations to Rotary causes. DMS has been stellar in its history for everyone donating every year. Please do your part soon so we may carry on our club and Rotary traditions.Every one of you matter to the success of Rotary.
Our January happy hour was a joint club social with the 5 Points Club which was held at the Blue Bonnet Mexican restaurant. We had a great time getting to know some of their members while having good food. We found that we have many things in common as Rotarians, including food & drink. They wanted to know much more about how we organized monthly community service projects. They want to get their members more active and are open to new ideas.Their Club President, Frankie, was all about getting new ideas from Brianna. Sorry that we did not get any pictures...we were busy with chips & salsa!
Our club had our 4th annual fundraiser for Hoses for Warriors at the 105W Brewery in Castle Rock. We had a good turnout of club members to help and a good turnout of patrons despite a snowy day. The best way to summarize our effort is the enclosed letter from the Houses Founder:
Dear David,
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your incredible support at Saturday’s 4th Annual Rotary Drive, hosted by the Rotary Club of Denver Metro South at 105 West Brewery. Your participation was instrumental in making the event a memorable success.
We’re excited to share that this year’s drive raised just over $2,000 in funds and collected approximately $1,500 worth of household goods to support our warrior home. Your contributions—whether financial or in the form of much-needed essentials—will directly benefit veterans in meaningful and impactful ways.
